The Beginning
Cruzen Campers began the way many great ideas do — with a love for the freedom of the road and a belief that travel should be simple, flexible, and unforgettable.
Years ago, we built a small fleet of beautifully crafted micro-campers, designed for travellers who wanted comfort, efficiency, and adventure without the bulk of a motorhome.
It took off.
Cruzen Campers quickly became a quiet success story — booked solid 12 months in advance, with travellers from all over the world eager to explore New Zealand in our custom mini-campers.
The business flourished. Our vans were always on the move, and each journey felt like a celebration of Aotearoa's landscapes.
When the World Stopped Overnight
Then COVID hit.
The travel industry didn't just slow down — it stopped. In the space of a single week, every reservation was cancelled. Borders closed. Tourism collapsed.
With no way to sustain the business, we had to make the hardest call: every van was sold.
It felt like watching a dream dissolve overnight. Cruzen Campers — as it existed — was gone.
But Good Ideas Don't Stay Buried
As life slowly returned to "normal," something unexpected happened.
The phone started ringing. Emails began arriving. People asked:

The demand came roaring back, along with the spark that started Cruzen in the first place.
And so, Cruzen Campers 2.0 was born.
